Health & Wellness

Assistant Superintendent Newsletter
Following is an excerpt from the Assistant Superintendent Newsletter.

“According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook, the overall employment of barbers, hairdressers, and cosmetologists is projected to grow ten percent from 2014 to 2024, faster than the average for all occupations…Currently, Westerly Public Schools offers three CTE programs: Cosmetology, Culinary and P-TECH in Advanced Manufacturing. All three areas of study are identified in the Bureau of Labor and Statistics as positions in great need through 2024. O*Net OnLine also labels all three of these career path offerings as “Bright Outlook” with a projected growth of between 9-13%, faster than the average growth of occupations.”

Home Internet Connectivity Survey

Westerly Public Schools, in an effort to better understand the needs of our student population, is requesting that students and parents take the corresponding surveys on internet connectivity in the home. This information will help guide our Strategic and Technology plans for the future to help us develop thoughtful, intentional strategies and policies that decrease inequities in digital learning.

The Surveys can be found here: Surveys
